The Black Male Educator Classroom

A professional learning and leadership ecosystem for Black men in education.

The Black Male Educator Classroom collaborates with individuals, schools, school systems, universities, organizations, and communities to build and strengthen ecosystems that support the development of Black male educators, teacher leaders, educational leaders, and Black boys and men. Grounded in research, theory, practice, and leadership in education, we strengthen the conditions, relationships, and opportunities that enable Black boys and men to learn, develop, lead, and thrive across educational spaces and society.

Vision

We envision a society and spaces where Black boys and men, Black male educators, Black male teacher leaders, and Black male leaders and executives flourish across education, health, professional advancement, leadership, and economic opportunity; where Black male educators thrive in the profession; where Black male teacher leaders influence schools and communities through their expertise and leadership; and where Black male leaders and executives guide institutions and communities with principled, healthy, and sustainable leadership—supported all through mentorship, community, leadership pathways, and economic agency and ownership.

Mission

To build and sustain ecosystems that advance educational, health, professional, leadership, and economic development across Black boys and men, Black male educators, Black male teacher leaders, and Black male leaders and executives; strengthen the recruitment, preparation, and retention of Black male educators; support the growth of Black male teacher leaders; and cultivate principled, healthy, and sustainable leadership among Black male leaders and executives—all through mentorship, community, leadership pathways, and economic agency and ownership.
